Postcards from Paris

August 1, 2018 Coco Zaza

It didn't seem possible that Paris could be any more unpredictable. But the renowned city of love has shaped my opinion once again. To start, being that I once lived in Paris and was far too familiar with the Air France Thursday night red eye from JFK to CDG, I have to say that I never feel too inclined to do the touristy things when I am back. Of course I always make time to see Tour Eiffel, walk the Tuileries Gardens, pass through Palais Royale, and so on and so forth, but for the most part, I really just enjoy living life how I once did as a true Parisien…

“Some of us are born with a crack in our souls”. This was the first line of a piece that I read in a recent edition of Cereal Magazine while I was rummaging through a sea of design magazines at the bookstore the other day. What a heavy sentence. I read it again and again and had to stop for a moment and think to myself what it actually meant. Is it a positive thing? Is it a negative thing? Does this mean that we are all inherently broken people? Does it mean that as humans some of us are different? I have been thinking a lot lately about relationships and more specifically, an individual's capacity for each of those relationships, and it got me thinking about how I approach the relationships in my life during my 28th year of age…

Mary Poppins Gucci: A Guide to Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen

July 26, 2018 Coco Zaza

An inspiring woman is an attractive woman. That’s what my mother used to tell me every time I wanted to do something unoriginal on a Friday night like grab pasta at the local Olive Garden and then see a film afterwards at the cinema which probably was some sequel of the Fast and the Furious…

If Emily and I had our own clothing stores* we would call them “Forever Chic”. This is the first time Emily and I have been on a trip to France together, and in particular, a trip to Paris. Paris... the place (and time of year) that my blog started in 2014. The place that stole my heart and my life and made me forever tied to this city, country, culture, cuisine and couture!…

Paris Je T'aime

January 22, 2016 Coco Zaza

Paris was the first leg of my trip around Europe back in November. I have not been to Paris since the summer of 2014. For the past year and a half or so, I thought that I didn’t want to go back...

A la folie

December 31, 2014 Coco Zaza

A la folie means, "the madness" in French. To me, that is a perfect phrase for my life the past few years. My story includes a mixture of glamour, tragedy and international intrigue; a story that, at its core, holds love, adventure and dreams before all else...

Blooms, Blooms, Blooms!

August 8, 2014 Coco Zaza

Paris is synonymous with fields of flowers and some of the most beautiful examples can be found at the Jardin des Tuileries, or, alternatively in their exceptional vintage boutiques that trump anything you can find in America...

The French Countryside

May 9, 2014 Coco Zaza

The French countryside is by far of my new favorite locations. With a cluster of tastefully appointed stone cottages and gravel streets, it's the perfect place to unwind and get away from the city life and relish in a peacefully enjoyable country evening with those near and dear to you...

American Girl in Paris: Part Un

American Girl in Paris; Part 1.

It's a very daunting experience; packing up your life and moving countries on a whim and one that I highly recommend doing at some point, if you are of synced appetence. Moving into an entirely new culture, one that you don't know well or even understand the native tongue, is as challenging and complex as one might assume, but it's entirely worth the breath of fresh air if you are looking for a change...
