American, I mean French, Gothic

May 13, 2014 Coco Zaza

I have always had a fascination with the prohibition era and particularly with the idea of traveling by train with trunks in hand, dressed up to the nines, the way people used to travel. This was an idea that my good friend Ken had always envisioned discovering together. Ken is an amazing accessories designer and has lived across continents for a countless number of years. He has recently introduced me to some of his very posh friends that he made while living in Paris, so perhaps I can get one of them to travel with me. Why is it that our world has deemed traveling an occasion to dress in sweatshirts and jeans? This look is in remembrance of an era that is so often overlooked, but added with a modernity of geometric cutouts and a splash of leather that makes it fully acceptable for today’s most adventurous connoisseurs.

Coco wears an Etro Knit and Wool Jacket, Elizabeth and James Leather Skirt, Rag and Bone Hat, Vintage belt that I picked up on my last trip to Italy, Christian Louboutin Patent Pumps, Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick, My mothers earrings, Fendi 2Jours (Large) Monogramed Handbag
