Questions & Answers
What camera do you use?
I currently photograph with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, my Sony A7R and my iPhone 7.
What lens do you use?
For my Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera I use three different lenses: a 35mm f/2:0, 50mm f/1:4, 24-105mm and a 85mm f/1:8. For my Sony A7R camera I use a 55mm lens.
Which camera and lens do you recommend for people wanting to take up photography?
A good idea is to buy an “entry level camera” and then upgrade to something more advanced later on if it’s something you really enjoy and want to continue doing on a professional level. Having a fantastic camera doesn’t automatically make you a great photographer.
RAW or JPEG?
I shoot almost everything in RAW but when starting out I photographed a lot in JPEG. I think shooting in RAW comes naturally once you've advanced more in your photography and post editing.
How do you edit your photos?
I do all of my post editing in Photoshop.
How do you edit your Instagram photos?
I edit my iPhone 7 photos for Instagram in apps like Snapseed.
Where are you from?
I am from Oklahoma and grew up in a suburb to Stockholm and later on in the city centre of Stockholm.
What do you do in New York?
I work in tech consulting in New York and have my blog and Instagram account as creative outlets.

Why did you move to Paris?
I moved to Paris because I wanted a change in my life and to experience something completely new. I moved to Paris in February of 2012 during four months (yes, that’s how the blog name came about) to study French. After my four months were up and I returned to Sweden I couldn’t get Paris out of my mind and decided to move back in January 2013.
Do you have any tips for someone wanting to move to Paris?
You’re more than welcome to have a look under the category “Moving to Paris” here on the blog where I’ve gathered all my suggestions on this topic in one place. The posts are quite old but still might be able to help!
Can I move to Paris even though I don’t speak French?
Anything is possible, even moving to Paris without speaking a word of French. When I came to Paris I couldn’t speak a word of French and so far, I’m still managing over here. Of course it’s a huge plus to be able to make yourself understood but I’m convinced that this is something you can pick up either but studying the language or hanging out with French people.
Where did you study French?
I studied French at a school called Accord. - Read more -

Where should I stay while in New York?
If you’re visiting for a shorter amount of time as a tourist I would say that staying in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th arrondissement (but I recommend staying off the Champs-Élysées) would be convenient but this of course depends on what you’re looking to do while in Paris. New and cool neighbourhoods that more and more visitors like to explore are also the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and the 17th for example. I personally don't know a lot about Montmartre (18th) but of course this is a place that people like to explore most of the time as well. I would recommend doing your research before deciding to see what area suits you the best. - Read more -
