Asia Roadshow Diaries- Part 4: Hong Kong

H O N G   K O N G 香港

Stay: To me, the only place to stay in Hong Kong is The Upper House. This was my third stay and each time continues to get better and better. It is the only place I will stay, while visiting Hong Kong and I can't wait to come back every time I leave. It's my "home" in Hong Kong and by far one of my favorite spots worldwide. The team at Upper House knows Hong Kong inside and out- everywhere to go- from secret restaurants, nail salons that you can get amazing nail art at (I got Yayoi Kusama nails painted before I headed back to NYC), massage parlors, and places to explore local culture and create memorable experiences…

Asia Roadshow Diaries- Part 2: Seoul

S E O U L 서울

Stay: My favorite hotels in Seoul are the Park Hyatt and The Shilla. The Park Hyatt is in Gangnam-gu (South of the Han River), so really convenient to get around if you’re running around that side of town. The Shilla, on the other hand, is up on the mountain (North of the Han River) and where a lot of business takes place. For this post, I’ll discuss the Park Hyatt since that’s where we stayed. It’s a super clean and modern hotel with floor to ceiling windows, an awesome soaking bathtub with Aesop products, and some of the best house keeping I have ever experienced. The lobby has striking views of Seoul and a really chill rectangular pool and multi-room gym…

Asia Roadshow Diaries- Part 1: Tokyo

T O K Y O 東京都

Stay: The Peninsula, Chiyoda. We arrived in Tokyo where we stayed at The Peninsula Hotel located in Chiyoda. Chiyoda is an area within Tokyo known for being the business district. It is home to the Imperial Palace, Hibiya Park, Natural Museum of M1odern Art and the Yasukuni Shrine. It’s not the most glamorous or the most lively part of town, but it’s central and hosts some of the cities best five-star hotels (plus!). The Peninsula is my favorite hotel in Tokyo. Everything is curated from the gigantic fitting room style walk-in closets to the spa music in the bathrooms (complete with your very own bath salts from their legendary spa)…

Dumbo

Being the daughter of enthusiasts, at a very early age, I learned the paths of the fleas and antique markets around the globe. I was treasure huntings as a young girl for exceptional pieces. Both my parents are collectors of modern sculptures and paintings and as soon as we went on any family holiday, we had to visit the museums, see the galleries, meet some artists, see the history of the place, and explore and live as the locals would. They love art in every shape and form and my mom encouraged me to choose my career according to this passion since I obviously did too...

Suits

I had been out the night prior in Williamsburg for dinner with my dear friends Adrian and Emerald. They own the gallery Olsen Gruin that you see me posting about all the time on Orchard Street and are two incredibly special friends of mine. As I basically hijacked the entire dinner to talk about myself and a few stories that were taking over my mind’s existence (which I cannot tell you, because they may end up being screenplays someday), I looked at my calendar to see what my Monday had in store and quickly realized that I had eight meetings over the span of thirteen hours on the books. That’s an insane Monday morning, even for me...

All That Glitters Is Not Gold

Always someone that deems sophistication at any given moment, I was the girl that preferred to wear backless long dresses to revealing short ones and high waisted trousers with a silk blouse to jeans and a crop top. In my opinion, there is something very telling about a woman that chooses to cover up and leave things to the imagination versus those that choose to give it all away up front (but, then again, talk to me when I’m wearing a blazer as a dress at The Blond dancing on a table and you’ll say I’m a total hypocrite)...

Pucci Daydream

IMG_1206.JPG

It's was 22h00 my time on a Tuesday night and instead of going out like normal twenty-something girls in New York City, I was thinking about the gym. I realized that I haven't trained in three days due to my social / work/ life calendar, so I put on a sports bra, pulled up some tights, zipped up a sweatshirt, tied my tennis shoes, velcroed my training gloves, grabbed my snapback and took the elevator up to the 8th floor and day-dreamed about my soon-to-be body...

Handwritten Notes: The Way To My Heart

November 9, 2017 Coco Zaza
IMG_0523.JPG

If we're close, it's likely that you have received one of my hand-written notes at some point in our relationship. I'm positively obsessed with writing my sentiments down on paper, which is both old-fashioned and old-worldly, but also equally expressive in such a pure sense. It's positively thought-provoking, enriching, and magical. Quite frankly, it's positively me...

Tribe

Bethany is my best friend. We share secrets, finish each other's sentences, and occasionally do something naughty- like split a McChicken and fries at McDonalds. On this particular day, we attended the baby shower of our friend Emma and spent the rest of the day doing what we do best- running around the West Village taking photos, sitting at a cafe working for a number of hours glued to our screens, and then getting massages together at our favorite local Chinese massage parlor on 8th street (found here, in my New York City Guide)...

Bonjour Tristesse

IMG_0647.JPG

I seem to specialize in three things, namely, being a traveler, being a degenerate gambler on my spare time with Bitcoin, and ruthlessly racking up charges on my American Express platinum card. Currently, I start my day by waking up to a hot glass of lemon water, putting on my mumu, and going straight to my Coinbase on my phone to see the latest news. When it’s a good day, I get very excited. I even feel inspired to work out. When it’s a bad day, I want to slit my wrists, and hide under the covers. The volatility is killing me...
