Matryoshka Doll

March 2, 2015 Coco Zaza

Once upon a time there was a girl named Coco. Coco believed in a world of magic.

Coco is a lively girl with a personality that shines brighter than the stars. Her ethic heritage is split between South Korean, Native American, German and French. Her early pursuit of creativity was cultivated through companies, as a way of making sense of the world and she started her first company at the young age of fourteen. What happens when your company goes from being an idea, a dream of sorts, to a commodity, to a necessity, then amplified through avarice and ego to a place where you are on the cusp of loosing it all? Sometimes Coco doesn't understand her life, a life that is protected by a feeling of improbability. It's as though her life is one big dream; as though she existed in another life or perhaps maybe she did not really exist at all.

One of the most important things to Coco is living a life of substance; a colorful existence that is made real by the very people in her story. Coco comes from a dense foliage of hard-workers; family that had emigrated to America for a more opportunistic life and whose main purpose in life was to inspire their children to become something great. Hatched by a true visionary, Coco's mother has inspired her very essence, sculpting her into the creation that is she today. Coco epitomizes glamour of a bygone era, one in which South Korean nobility rubbed elbows with exclusive enclaves with American entrepreneurs and European royalty.

Coco grew up loving the Russian Matryoshka Doll, The Matryoshka Doll is a set of wooden dolls of decreasing size that is placed one inside the other. The idea being that if the outer doll is removed, a similar doll exists within. Coco always felt that this doll was a representation of her of life; a layered cake, a peeled onion, many different layers that complete and make up the complex being that she is today. She believes that she has now been drawn to a place that is so magical that it has invaded her imagination and far succeeded anything that she could dream up herself. Her heart has been swept into a gravitational pull that only leads her to believe that this is what she is meant to be doing. Her life is one incredible fairy tale dream. But true fairy tale dreams- authentic, one-of-a-kind, love-induced, psychologically impairing, mind-blowing dreams- is a fragile thing.

Coco wears a Stella McCartney silk blouse, Club Monaco Skirt, Adrienne Landau Fur Hat, Vintage Belt, Zara Zippered Booties, Vintage Earrings.
