I recently received an email from a subscriber of Coco Zaza about my declining fashion posts asking, "Why Coco Zaza have you stopped writing about fashion? [Insert the crying emoji with one tear]". I stopped for a second and rummaged back through my history and saw that it is indeed true! I have not written much about fashion in the past few weeks, although I have to admit, all my posts are generally centered around my outfits, so in this particular case, doesn't a picture equal a thousand words? Since my roots are inheritability in fashion, but my heart is in tech, it becomes a difficult conundrum to be in. I hereby pledge to write a least one post, every two weeks, about fashion*. It becomes difficult when you have more interests outside of fashion, like dimensional models, graph cubes and artificial intelligence, I mean- that is my job, what can I say?
This apparent contradiction in internal decision making actually illustrates my business accumen quite well. When I was working directly in the fashion industry, I would care more about fashion news and it would be more sensible for me to center the majority of my posts around it. Now, Coco Zaza has thus become a diversified catalyst changing my RSS feed from the Business to Fashion to the Financial Times. Don't worry BoF, you're still top on my list!
Consistency represents the mediocre business professional who can’t change his position for fear of contradiction. Consistency is boring. Never get married, especially to a position or a woman.
*I may or may not adhere to this claim. Always read the fine print!
New York is freezing and I'm in minimum of six meetings per day, all around this fine city! Uber and Reserve have officially taken over my Amex. If you don't know of either, you suck; both are part of EXPA and both are totally rad. My Uber code: BC2QT, My Reserve code: XKYCZ1 for $25 off your first ride or order; boom.
