I've developed a horrible allergy to meat and dairy and my allergic reaction that I had as a child has now come back to ruin my life. While hobnobbing in The Hampton's this past summer, I was bit by a bug that carries a sugar that humans don't have called alpha-gal. Post-bug bite, the sugar entered my blood stream and my body reacted to the sugar as a foreign substance, making me allergic to all meat and dairy, amongst many other things for the remainder of my life thus attributing to the ruining of my life. I've been dealing with anaphylactic shock and chronic hives now for the past three months and it is not fun. I've been injected with so many antibiotics, antihistamines, epi-pens, inhalers and now my very own specialized allergy shots, but I think there is light at the end of the tunnel here- I am starting to get better and I have started eating meat again!
I've gained an abnormal amount of water weight and I just haven't felt like myself lately. Since I am experiencing the same kind of feelings that I had when I was a kid with chronic hives, I have been reliving childhood adventures listening to the Dixie Chicks Fly Album, wearing short cotton dresses, fully accompanied with a hat, and prancing around outside as much as I can. The weather is awesome in the fall. The colors look like a cornucopia rainbow and the season to give thanks and be grateful for your life comes into heights. Although my ailment is painful in its effects and annoyance, I am still very grateful to be healthy, happy and alive.
