A cardigan is ideally suited to the climate of a New York, which can notoriously switch from sunny to subdued in the blink of an eye. If you don't have a big chest like me, you can easily use a over-sized boyfriend cardigan with a deep-v as a shirt, without any underpinnings and it make it look extremely chic. You can also easily wear it over dresses, collared shirts and belted to make it more lady-like.
My life in New York has reaped far greater personal rewards than mastering how to make a cardigan work, but I do rely on it heavily for one of my wardrobe staples. I found some rather great colors and hues that are *just* solid enough, but have a bit of flavor to them. I own this Prada one from my time working there in 2011, and another similar ombre version in light beige and camel from Stella McCartney that I just adore. The other ones are the normal colors in the rotation- black, grey and beige - usually from brands like Theory or Vince, but sometimes I decide to binge on a designer piece from Fendi or Pringle of Scotland.
As you can see by the bags under my eyes, this was a day that I probably went to bed around 4am, because I was up finishing some work. I also added in some photos of my recent work trip to Austin at Graffiti Park, because I felt like they looked cool. I love wearing sneakers and dress pants around town, because its casual enough to get around quickly, but at the same, you're still wearing slacks so you CAN easily go into a meeting, so long as its relatively casual. This random dude decided to jump in my photos and we thought it was funny, so decided to include them. Enjoy!
